The Best Halloween Ever

Halloween started on Friday for us. Both the kids had their Halloween parties, they were at the same time, and since I have been on several field trips with Ian, I chose to help out in Eva's classroom. They had many projects for the kids, and all seemed to have a good time. Later that evening we ventured over to the Church for the annual "trunk or treat." Thank heavens for good friends who took my kids around this year... We love an appreciate you!

With Ron's crazy schedule it becomes harder and harder to do the traditional family holiday things each year. I have always wanted to "do" those things with my kids, but put it off for a "day when DAD is home..." and then other things get in the way...Thank heavens for excited little girls. This year Eva has been begging to carve the Jack-O-Lantern. She pleaded with me to take her to get the pumpkin, which I finally did, but told her we'd carve it closer to Halloween. I suppose on some level I hoped she would forget about it...but not EVA.. On Halloween day, she begged, and begged, and I knew I should do it...so we set to work. Eva drew the face. Nothing fancy for her she said. She wanted the triangle nose and eyes and mouth with one tooth~ That is what she got!
Later that evening we went to some good friends house for Stew in a pumpkin and homemade rolls..yummy! Ron had taken the last few hours off, and met me. The men ended up taking the kids around the neighborhood, while the gal folk stayed back and enjoyed good conversation (I really am blessed with good friends). After going through the stash, we packed the kids up and headed home. As I put Eva to bed she gave me a huge hug and said..."Thanks Mom for making this the best Halloween ever!". Quotes like that make it worth all the time and effort I tend to shirk at! Thank you Eva! And one last picture...this one is for my favorite middle brother Dan...Six years running and YES they are still my props!! Hope your Halloween was as fun as ours!!!
